GasPulse is a simple gas-price tracker made by an independent developer (Misha). Your privacy matters, and the app is built to need as little of your information as possible.
GasPulse does not require an account and does not track you. It does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies, and it does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.
To work, the app saves a few preferences locally on your device using the system's standard storage. This never leaves your phone. It includes things like the state you last selected, the regions you choose for price alerts, the last alert baseline prices needed to compare weekly changes, small counters the app uses to decide when to (rarely) ask you to rate it, and a local fingerprint used to avoid sending duplicate feedback. Deleting the app removes all of it.
The app downloads weekly average gas prices (originally published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration) from static files hosted on GitHub Pages. This is an ordinary web request and does not include any personal information about you. As with any website, the hosting provider (GitHub) may record standard technical logs such as IP address; GasPulse does not have access to or use that information.
GasPulse includes an optional "Send feedback" form. If — and only if — you choose to use it, the app sends:
This is delivered through Formspree, a third-party form service, which forwards it to the developer's private inbox. It is used only to read your feedback and, if you provided an email, to reply. GasPulse does not use it for marketing or sell it. Formspree processes this information to deliver it to the developer; its privacy policy governs that processing. If you do not use the feedback form, none of this is collected.
Each service has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data.
GasPulse is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You can use the entire app without providing any personal information. If you have sent feedback and would like it deleted, contact us (below) and it will be removed.
If this policy changes, this page and the "last updated" date above will be updated.
Questions about privacy? Use the in-app "Send feedback" form — tap the ••• menu, then Send feedback.
